DAILY UPDATE - 12-JUNE

Brazil 3 - 1 Croatia

Was it a fair result? And the referee, did he play a role in the result of this match?

Stats - so who'll make it to the Round of 16?

Only 3 unanimous choices to classify to the next round: Brazil, Argentina and Spain.

Stats - Top Scorer & Goals

Here Messi rules with 19 with Neymar following close with 14.

Below the Top Scorers of all World Cups. Recent results lean towards 6 goals per Top Scorer.

Stats for Total Goals - Master Bonus of 80 points

As expected there's a very spread distribution on the Total Goals. Probably the Master Bonus will be a key factor to provide that needed final sprint of the Bolao.

The table below contains the total goals scored in the last World Cups:

Final Stats - Champion, 2nd, 3rd, 4th.

So Brazil is the favorite. 23 out of 44 put Brazil as the Champion.
Preferred 2nd place is Argentina with 14.

Russia and Portugal appear surprinsingly as Champion in 2 bets.

Final List of Participants

I received several last minute entries. We have a total of 44 participants. Pancho is participating 4 times (himself and 3 kids) and Carlos Cunha twice (himself and his son).

Brazil leads with 13 participants, followed by the US with 11 and Mexico with 9.

Statistics

From the bets we have registered so far, I found out some interesting stats.

Brazil leads the odds with 19 players selecting Brazil as the World Cup champion. Other 6 selected Germany, 5 Spain and 4 Argentina.

Argentina leads the 2nd place with 11 indications. I wonder if all Brazilians are dreaming with a Brazil vs Argentina final. Interesting to see that Brazil has 9 indications as 2nd place, with 9 people predicting a new Maracanazo.

Messi leads the Top Scorer with 12 indications, followed by Neymar with 9.

As soon as I finish all bets I'll publish the complete stats.

Lista de participantes – 12-junho

37 participantes.

Getting to the deadline

All,

Place your bets this weekend, the World Cup starts next June 12th. So far I have 28 confirmations though only 9 Excel bets with me.

We'll use this blog to have daily score updates published so everyone can follow it. I'm building a Google Drive folder to store all bets so we have transparency on the whole process.

Let's heat it up!

Cheers,
Marcos
