SUPER-Bolão

So we decided to have a 2nd Bolao, we’ll call it Super-Bolão. This Super-Bolão will run in parallel with the ongoing Bolão, and I’ll publish the partial results in

Two comments:

1) I will not adopt Luciano's suggestion just because of logistics. My spreadsheet is ready to do individual results, and to do average results I would have to work on it, and I can't do it now.

2) We need to define a value for the bets. My initial suggestion is $10, but I wanted to ask for feedback. The idea is to have a reduced value so more people can participate.

I'm going to send an email tomorrow evening for each of you to place the bets (after the Round-of-16 is defined). Bets will be done by email. I'll consolidate things here.

The Super-Bolão will run from Round-of-16 to the end of the tournament, and it will count with 4 phases: Round-of-16, Round-of-8, Semis and Final. For each phase you’ll have to bet the results of the games, knowing which teams will play.

I prepared a different pointing system, as follows:

Number of goals scored by each team of the game. 1 point per team's score you choose correctly	3
Difference of goals between winner and looser, or zero if it's a draw	4
Result of the game (if you correctly choose the winner of a draw)	2
Exact score of the game
Points for each team that you correctly selected as going to the Round of 16.
Points for each team that you correctly selected as going to the Quaterfinals	10
Points for each team that you correctly selected as going to the Semis	20
Points for each team that you correctly selected as going to the Finals	40
Champion	80
Total quantity of Goals scored in the World Cup	40
Top Scorer of the World Cup	40
Number of goals scored by the Top Scorer in the whole tournament.	40

On this Super-Bolão, the key point is to select which teams will go to the next phase. The score of the games will count only 30% of the total points.

The critical point of this Super-Bolão is for me to receive the bets. Schedule will be as follows:

  - Round-of-16 – bets by next Saturday June 28^th at 1PM Brazil time, when the first game of the Round-of-16 starts. Bets will only be valid if received by then, and must contain the Total Goals, Top Scorer and Top Scorer goals.

  - Round-of-8 – by Friday July 4^th 1PM Brazil time

  - Semis – by Tuesday July 8^th at 5PM Brazil time

  - Finals and 3^rd place – by Saturday July 12^th at 5PM Brazil time.
